Marie Pittroff, was born in Strasbourg, France in 1952.
She lives and works in Mainz, Germany.
She studied German Literature, French Literature and Comparative Literature
at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. She then studied Art / Painting
under Professor K.-J. Fischer in Mainz and received her diploma in Painting
from Gutenberg University in 1991.
Since 1991 she has worked independently as an artist.
From 1991 to 2000 she also worked with the HinterHaus Theatre in Wiesbaden
as Arts Director of its gallery.
